Breast Milk is essential for the early stages of a baby's life.
When the baby can be introduced to other foods? What kind of foods are introduced initially?
Experts recommend that babies be breastfed exclusively (without formula, juice, non–breast milk, or food) for the first 6 months. After 6 months, weaning, that is, introducing other foods other than breastmilk, should be started. In the beginning, not the quantity but the baby adapting to new tastes has to be appreciated. Smooth mash or puree or porridges which are sweet, are given initially along with breastfeeding. It is better to breastfeed the baby up to 24 months along with other foods.
